Tracy Wiggins

Tracy Wiggins is coordinator of the percussion program and marching band director at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke. He is also a candidate for the Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the HARTT School, University of Hartford. He is the former instructor of percussion at Samford University, where he directed the marching band, percussion ensemble and steel drum band. Mr. Wiggins holds a Masters Degree in Percussion Performance from the University of New Mexico and a Bachelors Degree in Music Education from Oklahoma State University. Mr. Wiggins is an active performer and clinician throughout the United States, having performed in groups ranging from the Freelancers drum and Bugle Corps to serving as principal percussionist of the Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra. He has also performed with steel drum bands, hand drumming groups and many chamber ensembles. He has made guest appearances at many universities and festivals throughout the United State. His teachers have included Johnny Almendra, Wayne Bovenschen, Michael Bump, Joe Galeota, Ralph Hardimon, Gregg Koyle, Alexander Lepak, Christopher Shultis, Ben Toth, Glen Velez and Nancy Zeltsman. Tracy has also performed on masterclasses for Evelyn Glennie, Nebosja Zivkovic and Robert Van Sice. He is an artist/endorser for Innovative Percussion and Sabian Cymbals, and plays on a Marimba One Marimba. He is currently listed in the "International Who's Who of Music and Musicians." Tracy Wiggins is a member of the Percussive Arts Society, Music Educators National Conference, The College Music Society, Kappa Kappa Psi and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.
