Robert Brannock

Prosper ISD

Robert Brannock holds a Masters degree in Percussion Performance and Conducting from the University of North Texas and a Bachelors degree in Music Education from Ball State University. While at UNT, he served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the percussion department, teaching undergraduate percussion studies. He has appeared as a featured soloist, clinician, conductor and performer in Japan, Illinois, Indiana, Colorado, Minnesota, Missouri, Wisconsin, and Texas. Some of his performance credits include the North Texas Wind Symphony, Irving, Oak Park and UNT Symphony Orchestras, UNT Symphonic Band, the UNT Percussion Ensembles, Gypsum Quartet and various chamber groups. His primary teachers include Mark Ford, Christopher Deane, Robert Schietroma, Leigh Stevens, Ron Fink, Bret Kuhn, Eugene Corporon, Dennis Fisher, Erwin Mueller and Ed Harrison.

An active educator, Mr. Brannock has held the position of Assistant Director and Director of Bands and Percussion Coordinator at high schools in Indiana and Texas. Currently, he serves as a Percussion Specialist at Prosper ISD in Texas. Under his direction, his ensembles have had the honor of performing with such artists as Ney Rosauro, Steve Houghton, Michael Burritt, Gregg Bissonette, Paul Wertico, Liam Teague and Arthur Lipner, among others. His ensembles have seen success in both marching and concert percussion, including the 2000 Indiana Percussion Association State Champion Lake Central Drumline and 2002 IPA runner-up Lake Effect concert ensemble. His ensembles have also earned WGI Regional Championship titles and numerous High Percussion awards. Concert and marching bands under his direction have consistent Superior ratings and Awards of Distinction to their credit in Texas and Indiana, including appearnaces at the Indiana State Marching Band Finals, Bands of America Regionals and Grand Nationals and top honors at various national music festivals. His percussion students have gone on to win auditions with regional orchestras, Texas and Indiana All-State Bands, the Cavaliers, Phantom Regiment, Southwind, Blue Knights, Carolina Crown, and Pioneer Drum and Bugle Corps, various WGI Independent World groups, as well as being accepted on scholarship to university music programs throughout the country.

Mr. Brannock has been an active wind and percussion adjudicator, composer and arranger, member of the Board of Directors for the Indiana Percussion Association and a design consultant for and Dynasty USA. He is published with Row-Loff Productions and is an endorser/artist for Innovative Percussion and Dynasty USA. He holds professional memberships in the Percussive Arts Society, Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, Indiana Music Educators Association, Pi Kappa Lambda, Golden Key and Kappa Delta Pi.
